Neenah's been the average girl who adores her Ate Tassja. But she is praised by many because of her pretty face. Her grades are pretty much ok, always getting certificates every quarter as she reaches the required honor average even if we don't see her studying. Her waterloo is Math. Sleeps in Math class when she was younger haha!
Responsible, sweet, and charming. Neenah used to bring my slippers for me when I arrive from the office. She won't blink or wince when I ask her to do something. Very matured in thinking, we would oftentimes call her "lola." She's a great singer, dancer, and recently discovered that she's a great actress too! ;-)
While she seemed more comfortable playing with boys (beating the h*ll out of them in dodge ball), little did I realize that this cute girl will grow up to be strong and athletic. When she learned new sports such as tennis, badminton, basketball - she makes it seem like she's been doing it for ages. And more proud was I when she started playing volleyball. She was discouraged by her Ate Tashi at first, I guess with the thought that Neenah will clamor more attention. But I knew that she was seeing Neenah to be an asset to the high school team when she reaches high school and they get to play together for one year. :-)
Neenah's prowess in volleyball have led her to be discovered by other coaches during the LAPPRISA league. She was chosen to play during the "dual meet" when players of the private school sector played against public school players. Hopefully, when the palarong pambansa comes along, she will also be chosen. Their team only got 2nd runner up, but it was their first time to join so not bad. And she made friends with players of other schools.
When the graduation announcement was out, she proudly showed me the paper and told me "Mommy, athlete of the year ako." My Neenah, athlete of the year? Beating the basketball guys in her class? I was happy beyond words. :-)
Congratulations, my dearest Neenah. As you step into high school, I only wish you'd be more masipag in your school work, take care of yourself (maligo at magsuklay ka naman! highschool ka na!), and be the best person you can be. I love you to bits. <3
Receiving the Athlete of the Year award with the equally proud Mama Elisa :-)
